Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, USA; significant plant-floor presence required

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day leadership and production support for Quality Auditors, Quality Technicians, Torque Specialists, and other hourly quality employees.
• Assign inspection, audit, containment, and quality-support activities according to production needs and project deadlines.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause and failure analysis, and corrective and preventive action implementation.
• Monitor quality metrics, identify trends, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support new product development, production start-ups, tool validation, inspection readiness, and supplier certification.
• Develop inspection and testing processes, equipment requirements, quality procedures, and work instructions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, operations, or a related field.
• Approximately 3 years of experience in quality engineering, process engineering, or a related field.
• Experience providing direct front-line leadership or supervision to hourly employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of process improvement, quality methodologies, Kaizen, PFMEA, control plans, quality management systems, and print reading.
• Experience with root cause analysis, product or process failure analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Ability to work on the manufacturing plant floor and travel up to 10%; immigration sponsorship is not available.
