Staff Quality Engineer (Manufacturing Intelligence)

Base pay range: $150,000–$190,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, execute, and analyze quality tests across hardware, firmware, and software.
• Define verification and validation strategies, system-level test plans, validation readiness activities, and release support.
• Establish QMS processes, SOPs, work instructions, templates, and controlled documentation practices.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, risks, test methods, test results, and quality evidence.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, calibration, and test-process validation, including validation plans and acceptance criteria.
• Lead statistical analysis, root-cause investigations, nonconformance resolution, CAPA, design reviews, risk assessments, and quality planning.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field with 8–12 years of relevant industry experience.
• Direct experience in product, design, systems, or manufacturing engineering across concept, development, verification and validation, manufacturing readiness, and commercial release.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, QMS documentation, and audit readiness.
• Experience with requirements and test management tools such as Jama, contract manufacturers, manufacturing transfer, pilot builds, process validation, and NPI.
• Strong statistical background, including DoE, gauge R&R, multivariate analysis, and JMP or Minitab.
• Experience with FMEA, CAPA, NCR, control plans, MSA, document control, root-cause analysis, and structured decision-making.

Nice to have

• Software quality engineering, test automation, software verification, or quality control for data-processing workflows.
• Experience with metrology, instrumentation, imaging systems, or technically complex capital equipment.
• Experience in batteries, semiconductors, electronics, energy, or industrial automation.
• CQE or CRE certification.
