Manager of Data Analysis for Lab Production Support, Extended-Hours Support (ExHS) (Data Science)

Location: San Carlos, California, United States. This onsite role requires commitment to one Extended-Hours Support shift team: Weekend, Early-Morning, or Late-Evening. Teams rotate quarterly between two fixed rotations.

Salary: $165,000–$200,000 USD annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor an Extended-Hours Support data analytics team supporting laboratory production operations.
• Manage production escalation tickets, workload tracking, capacity planning, and ticket SLAs.
• Measure team effectiveness, define objectives, provide feedback, and support career development.
• Represent the team in stakeholder meetings and translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations.
• Identify automation and process improvement opportunities while managing risks from data model and workflow changes.
• Collaborate with product management, laboratory operations, laboratory directors, genetic counselors, and other DSPE teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, data engineering, analytics production, or production support.
• At least 5 years of experience in a highly regulated environment such as CLIA- or FDA-compliant settings.
• At least 2 years of team management experience.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, statistical techniques, data preparation, data mining, and complex data querying.
• Knowledge of Snowflake, healthcare data, HIPAA and FDA guidelines, diagnostic laboratory processes, and next-generation sequencing workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with clinical terminology and healthcare data.
• Familiarity with practical machine learning applications.
• Experience with GitHub or GitLab for version control and collaboration.
