Sr. Director Scientific Services (Life Sciences)

Location: Houston, TX, USA. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Salary: $205,000–$225,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the scientific direction and delivery of services supporting translational medicine clinical trials, primarily in immuno-oncology and autoimmune or inflammatory research.
• Translate client requirements into experimental plans, communicate progress and results, and deliver studies according to agreed timelines and regulations.
• Hire, coach, mentor, and develop scientists and scientific managers while building a strong scientific culture.
• Oversee laboratory operations, including inventory, instruments, capacity, quality reviews, LIMS development or validation, reagent ordering, assay execution, and data delivery.
• Lead scientific product and service development, growth objectives, KPIs, policies, and revenue tracking.
• Support proposals, client presentations, industry networking, SOP development, publications, white papers, and technical thought leadership.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in life sciences with expertise in tissue-based or molecular assays.
• At least 18 years of full-time post-doctoral laboratory experience and 10 years of demonstrated management experience.
• Strong experience with tissue-based assays such as IHC, ISH, and mIF, and/or molecular assays such as ddPCR, qPCR, and NGS.
• Experience validating or qualifying assays under GCLP, CAP, CLIA, GLP, or ISO guidelines.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, quality systems, timelines, and client-facing scientific communication.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
