Remote Operations and Feature Testing Manager (Autonomous Driving)

Location: Primary workplace in Leonberg, Germany. Hybrid working model with remote work, occasional travel within Germany, and travel to other European locations for testing and team coordination.

What you will do

• Lead the operational delivery of internal Remote Operations and Feature Testing activities.
• Translate testing priorities and business requirements into tactical plans covering staffing, vehicles, shifts, and resources.
• Coordinate testing activities across locations and countries while monitoring safety, efficiency, KPIs, and operational standards.
• Line-manage the Remote Operations and Feature Testing VSO team, supporting performance, development, and wellbeing.
• Act as the escalation point for safety concerns, operational risks, and serious incidents.
• Identify blockers, implement new processes and SOPs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale testing operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in operational management, ideally in automotive testing, fleet operations, logistics, or technology operations.
• Strong people leadership experience with direct management of operational teams.
• Experience translating high-level priorities into actionable plans, including resource planning, shift coverage, performance management, and operational KPIs.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
• Experience working in controlled or safety-sensitive environments with a strong safety mindset.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and influence operational priorities across teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with ADAS, autonomous vehicle testing, automotive development, remote operations, vehicle testing, data collection, or safety driver operations.
• Experience working with VSOs, technicians, field engineers, or similar operational teams.
• Experience planning activities across countries or markets.
• German language skills or experience working in German operational environments.
• Experience with Fleetio, Jira, Slack, planning systems, or KPI dashboards.
