Director of Engineering, Fan Experience (AI)

What you will do

• Lead the Fan Experience engineering team building ticket discovery, decision-making, and purchasing features for millions of consumers.
• Remain hands-on by writing and reviewing code alongside full-stack and front-end engineers.
• Set standards for using frontier models, AI coding agents, and modern tooling to generate, test, review, and monitor code.
• Own the engineering roadmap and execution plan while balancing delivery speed, quality, architecture, and technical debt.
• Partner closely with Product and Design on product direction, experimentation, risk management, and measurable business outcomes.
• Mentor engineers, maintain a high hiring and performance bar, and provide technical leadership across teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on engineering management experience, including meaningful people management experience and typically 5+ years in engineering.
• Direct experience using frontier models, AI coding agents, harnesses, and modern development tooling to improve velocity and quality.
• Experience shipping consumer-facing product features with measurable business impact.
• Experience managing full-stack and/or front-end teams delivering web and mobile products, backend services, and APIs.
• Strong understanding of React, React Native, backend services, APIs, full-stack architecture, SQL, analytics, feature flags, and A/B testing.
• Role location: Chicago, Illinois, United States.
