Manager, Logistics Projects and Technology (Automation)

Location: Chicago, IL — Chicago/Aon Center; travel averages approximately 10%–30% depending on the project.

Salary: $104,200–$130,200 base salary annually, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Lead capital logistics projects from concept through closeout, including scope, budgets, approvals, construction, startup, and project governance.
• Develop automation and technology initiatives through concept development, savings analysis, business cases, and funding approval.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in warehouse systems, including WMS, LMS, and YMS, as well as AGVs, ASRS, ATLS, robotics, palletizing, and conveyors.
• Manage supplier relationships, technology searches, service programs, and optimization initiatives.
• Build a five-year automation roadmap and future project pipeline using data analysis, productivity techniques, and opportunity identification.
• Partner with logistics operations, site managers, IT, development resources, suppliers, contractors, and 3PLs to execute initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; supply chain, engineering, or a technical discipline preferred.
• 5–10+ years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, operations, manufacturing, continuous improvement, or project management.
• Experience with automation, robotics, technology, or digital initiatives.
• Strong project and program management skills, including roadmap development, prioritization, stakeholder coordination, and execution.
• Experience with performance metrics, KPI reporting, business analysis, operational scorecards, and measurable process improvement.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across functions and organizational levels in a matrixed environment.
