What you will do

  • Provide materials engineering support for rotating and stationary gas turbine and compressor components.
  • Select and qualify ferrous alloys, including martensitic and precipitation-hardened stainless steels, carbon steels, and low-alloy steels.
  • Develop material specifications, technical requirements, qualification plans, and mechanical property assessments.
  • Investigate material failures using metallographic, mechanical, chemical, and fractographic analysis.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing, supplier, and field issues.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, procurement, suppliers, laboratories, and service teams on material development, testing, repair, and life assessment.

  • Experience with heat treatment, microstructural transformations, mechanical testing, metallographic evaluation, and failure investigations.
  • Familiarity with forging, casting, machining, welding, and heat treatment processes.
  • Ability to interpret industry specifications, material standards, and engineering drawings, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related field.
  • Experience with industrial gas turbines, compressors, turbomachinery, energy, oil and gas, or hydrogen infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of ASME, AMS, ASTM, ISO, API, NACE, and related standards.
  • Experience with corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement, finite element-based life assessment, damage tolerance, additive manufacturing, or advanced repair technologies.
  • Experience evaluating and qualifying materials for high-pressure gaseous hydrogen and other hydrogen-containing environments.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, supplier, and service teams.
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
