Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; onsite at 1375 Crossman Ave

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 per year, plus performance bonuses and possible stock compensation

What you will do

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and machine learning frameworks.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
• Own the full software lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Build AI-driven applications and integrate machine learning components using multiple programming languages.
• Conduct system design reviews and ensure alignment with secure, maintainable architectural practices.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, and automation.
• Strong full-lifecycle software development experience, including CI/CD deployment and maintenance.
• Experience with platform engineering, infrastructure tooling, and AI/ML integration.
• Proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, and C++.
• Experience with system design, software design patterns, debugging, requirements analysis, and technical leadership.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
