Digital Content Producer

hirify.global operates KOIN-TV, a Portland CBS affiliate providing local news and digital media content across Oregon and southwest Washington.

What you will do

• Curate, aggregate, package, and promote local news content to increase engagement, page views, repeat visits, and time on site.
• Monitor broadcast, print, digital, blog, wire, scanner, email, and social media sources for breaking news, story leads, and trending or exclusive content.
• Write audience-focused headlines, use headline testing and metric tools, and evaluate traffic trends to guide daily and long-term content decisions.
• Produce short videos, select photos, and plan live or recorded digital-exclusive content such as interviews, explainers, and behind-the-scenes segments.
• Distribute news through social media and other audience engagement tools while collaborating with newsroom staff and management on enterprise stories and broadcast promotion.
• Maintain news logs, vet story tips, answer phones, and keep the newsroom informed about breaking and developing stories.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in television broadcast, production, or digital news production.
• Ability to use television production technology, MS Outlook, and email.
• Must work onsite in Portland, Oregon, and join the NABET union.
• Must be available for weekends, holidays, overnights, early mornings, nights, and other shifts as needed.
• Ability to work under high-stress breaking-news deadlines, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to work indoors, use electronic communications, conduct discussions, make independent decisions, and perform repetitive movements.
