WC Executive Trial Attorney (Workers' Compensation)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Wayne, Pennsylvania, Marlton, or Roseland, New Jersey staff counsel office. Travel to depositions, court appearances, claims and client meetings is required; car travel represents approximately 20% of the time.

What you will do

• Represent insureds in all phases of complex, high-exposure workers’ compensation litigation, trials, appeals, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution.
• Develop defense strategies by analyzing legal and factual issues, conducting research, preparing pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and appellate materials.
• Oversee assigned Trial Attorneys and provide supervisory guidance, technical legal support, and case direction.
• Communicate with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, clients, claims personnel, and other internal departments.
• Conduct depositions, pre-trial examinations, investigations, and legal research using Lexis and other legal resources.
• Provide legal opinions, recommendations, training materials, and seminars for claims, underwriting, and other departments.

Requirements

• Workers’ compensation experience in New Jersey and Pennsylvania is required.
• At least 15 years of legal experience in one or both jurisdictions is required.
• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and good standing with the relevant state bar are required.
• At least 15 matters tried to conclusion; appellate experience is preferred.
• Excellent writing, oral communication, customer service, and high-stakes legal drafting skills.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and similar tools.

• Prior leadership experience.
