Software Development Engineer II – Life Hub (Super App) (New Grad / Early Career)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; onsite five days per week

Annual base salary: $122,000–$157,000 USD

What you will do

• Build eligibility logic that maps self-asserted and verified member attributes to ranked life events and use cases.
• Implement JSON-based use-case and eligibility models for initiatives such as the Medicare pilot.
• Integrate Persons, Profiles, and Developer Portal APIs for eligibility and access data.
• Develop React and Next.js member-facing discovery and access experiences.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and platform teams to shape Life Hub's ontology and roadmap.
• Support production features by improving performance, accessibility, cross-browser reliability, and incident response.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent internship and academic project experience.
• Working proficiency in a modern backend language, preferably Java, and comfort with REST APIs.
• Experience with React and/or Next.js, data structures, debugging, and automated testing.
• Comfort working on defined tickets with pair programming and guidance from senior engineers.
• Clear written and verbal communication and comfortable use of AI tooling for code generation, testing, and documentation.

Nice to have

• Exposure to eligibility, entitlements, identity, or benefits-related domains.
• Experience with JSON data modeling or rules and policy engines.
• Familiarity with hirify.global Wallet, OAuth/OIDC, or the Nova/Fragno design system.
• Full-stack project experience spanning a UI, API layer, and database.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and cross-browser behavior.
