Senior Data Scientist (AI, Onsite)

Location: Arlington, Virginia; local to the DC Metro area required, with up to 4 days per week at offices or customer sites in Northern Virginia and Laurel, Maryland.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD annualized.

What you will do

• Translate customer needs into concrete data science and engineering solutions with customers, subject matter experts, and Product teams.
• Prototype and evaluate solutions using machine learning, deep learning, network analysis, text analytics, sampling, and data visualization.
• Design experiments to assess data sampling and collection integrity.
• Lead statistical, mathematical, modeling, simulation, and software development projects.
• Build ad hoc analyses and prototype tools for subject matter experts and customer success teams.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain capabilities on customer systems.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required; ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph is required.
• Local to the DC Metro area and able to work onsite up to four days per week.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of data science experience, or 2+ years with a PhD, including 3+ years of intermediate-level or higher Python and machine learning experience.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, quantitative social science methods, machine learning, and AI.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic and generative AI, LangChain, LangGraph, Model Context Protocol, Agent2Agent Protocol, prompt engineering, or LLM training and fine-tuning.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Linux, AWS, Azure, monitoring, logging, and air-gapped deployments.
• Experience with Agile, Jira, version control, customer support, and technical project ownership.
