Flight Test Planning Specialist (Aerospace)

Base pay: $96,300–$132,400 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop flight test plans that trace to FAA certification basis requirements, including objectives, success criteria, and instrumentation needs.
• Work with subsystem engineering to assess system intent, failure modes, and technical risks, then translate findings into test procedures.
• Lead or support Test Readiness Reviews with engineering, safety, and operations stakeholders.
• Maintain test point matrices, procedures, instrumentation and data requirements, and pass/fail criteria.
• Coordinate with certification engineers and applicable FAA representatives to support compliance findings.
• Improve flight test planning processes through lessons learned and process refinement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace engineering, engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in flight test operations.
• Strong knowledge of airworthiness certification flight test programs and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with safety risk management for flight testing or complex operational testing.
• Experience planning and executing ground and flight tests for certification or military projects.
• Strong collaboration, organization, and attention to detail.
