Cost Controller, Project Controls (Power Infrastructure)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States. Travel required.

What you will do

• Establish and maintain project cost baselines, budgets, cost accounts, control estimates, and change order registers.
• Monitor commitments, actual expenditure, forecasts, purchase orders, goods receipts, invoices, accruals, and capital work in progress across EPCC project phases.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports, EAC and ETC forecasts, earned value reports, cash flow forecasts, dashboards, and variance analyses.
• Review contractor claims, milestone payment certificates, vendor invoices, rate schedules, contracts, and cost impacts from scope or design changes.
• Integrate cost and schedule data, perform time impact analysis, quantify delay and liquidated damages, and support critical path and scenario analysis.
• Maintain cost risk registers, participate in quantitative cost risk analysis, support audits and due diligence, and manage project cost closeout documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, finance, business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 5–10 years of cost control, project controls, or capital cost management experience, including at least 3 years on power, energy, utility, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience supporting large capital projects; projects exceeding $100 million are preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, variance analysis, and dashboard development.
• Working knowledge of earned value management, change control, forecasting, accruals, integrated cost-schedule reporting, and ERP or project management systems.
• Familiarity with power infrastructure elements, including civil and structural work, high-voltage equipment, cabling, protection and controls, substations, generation, and commissioning; valid driver’s license required.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite.
• Experience with capital projects exceeding $100 million.
