Vehicle Technician (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Onsite fleet workshop role with Monday–Sunday shift rotation, including weekend work. Shifts are 06:00–15:00 or 13:00–22:00, 40 hours per week.

What you will do

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing, and inspections across the autonomous vehicle fleet.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using OEM documentation and diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare vehicles for testing, demonstrations, public-facing events, and daily operations.
• Document faults, repairs, parts used, and compliance records through digital maintenance tools.
• Communicate recurring issues and improvement opportunities to fleet service and field engineering teams.
• Support fleet drivers by resolving reported vehicle issues and maintaining workshop safety standards.

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications and proven experience as a Vehicle Technician in an automotive servicing or fleet environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic and repair skills, including experience with OEM or third-party diagnostic equipment.
• Familiarity with bodywork repairs and OEM repair manuals.
• Competence using computer systems such as Word and Excel to track maintenance tasks.
• Understanding of workshop safety, risk assessment, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Valid UK driving licence required.

• Experience with vehicles equipped with ADAS or autonomous technology.
• Understanding of high-uptime autonomous vehicle fleet operations.
• Interest in emerging mobility technologies and willingness to learn new systems.
