Vehicle Maintenance Technician- Associate (Heavy Goods Vehicles)

Location: Maidstone, England, United Kingdom; onsite

Salary: £17.93 per hour, plus premiums for hours worked between 7pm–10pm and 10pm–6am.

What you will do

• Service and maintain the company fleet of heavy goods vehicles and trailers according to planned maintenance schedules.
• Investigate and repair vehicle defects and complete ad hoc repairs.
• Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to support first-time passes.
• Complete service, inspection, defect, and legally required maintenance records.
• Use automotive tools, plant, testing equipment, and troubleshooting equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and perform other reasonable maintenance duties.

Requirements

• Fully skilled vehicle technician with applicable licences or vocational training, such as an LGV C&E Class 1 licence.
• City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2, or equivalent qualification in commercial vehicle repairs.
• Previous experience in a similar vehicle maintenance role.
• Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing and troubleshooting equipment.
• Experience with welding and basic DC electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components and hold a valid driving licence.
