TL;DR
Compliance and Federal Security Engineer, Engineering Services (FedRAMP/CMMC): Building and owning a federal-grade platform hardening program and federal and defense compliance engineering across an autonomous security technology product portfolio with an accent on FedRAMP, CMMC, ITAR-adjacent frameworks, and audit evidence. Focus on assessing platform posture, embedding federal controls into shared baselines, coordinating evidence across product teams, and building the certification roadmap for government and defense customers.

Location: Full-time, on-site at the hirify.global headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, United States

Base salary: $170,000–$200,000 per year, depending on experience. Equity is provided through stock options.

What you will do

  • Own the Federal-Grade Platform Hardening program end to end.
  • Lead federal and defense compliance engineering across the product portfolio.
  • Assess platform posture against FedRAMP, CMMC, ITAR-adjacent, and comparable federal frameworks.
  • Partner with the Security and Compliance Engineer on scope boundaries and evidence sharing.
  • Work with DevOps and Platform teams to embed federal-grade controls into shared platform baselines.
  • Build the certification roadmap for the first target federal framework.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in security or compliance engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with federal frameworks such as FedRAMP, CMMC, ITAR-adjacent, or Department of Defense assessment frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering platform hardening programs against federal requirements.
  • Strong written communication skills for compliance evidence, POA&Ms, and audit responses.
  • Ability to operate across multiple product teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Sunnyvale, California.

Nice to have

  • Experience with FedRAMP Moderate or High authorization programs.
  • Background as a government contractor or in the defense industrial base.
  • Experience with physical security or robotics product federal compliance.
