TL;DR
PC Board Designer (Aerospace): Designing, modeling, fabricating, and integrating custom PCBs for novel aircraft-based sensor systems with an accent on RF, rigid-flex, high-speed, mixed-signal, and advanced substrate technologies. Focus on creating complete electrical drawing packages, applying Mentor Graphics and Altium tools, and solving complex layout, fabrication, inspection, and system-integration challenges.

Location: 100% onsite in Lexington, Massachusetts; candidates must live within 100 miles and work onsite 5 days per week.

Company

hirify.global provides technical services and engineering solutions for defense research organizations, including secure IT systems, rapid prototyping, and advanced sensor systems.

What you will do

  • Design, model, and develop custom printed circuit boards for novel payloads and aircraft-based systems.
  • Create RF/chip-and-wire, rigid-flex, high-speed, digital, analog, mixed-signal, and controlled-impedance PCB layouts.
  • Work with engineers and subject matter experts to gather component requirements, environmental constraints, size, weight, power, and schedule data.
  • Generate complete electrical drawing packages supporting component procurement, PCB/MCM/substrate fabrication, assembly, inspection, and integration.
  • Support manufacturing, system-level integration, and electrical testing of approved PCB designs.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain an active Secret Clearance; an interim clearance is sufficient to start.
  • Must live within 100 miles of Lexington, Massachusetts and work onsite five days per week.

  • 10+ years of relevant CAD experience and current experience with Mentor Graphics Expedition, DxDesigner, and Altium.
  • Expertise in PCB design and layout, schematic capture, parts selection, multi-layer boards, RF, flex, BGA/CCGA packages, micro-vias, buried resistors, auto-routers, and differential signaling.
  • Experience with circuit architectures and algorithms, CMOS design, circuit characterization and qualification, reconfigurable circuits, and CAD/EDA/TCAD tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and MIL-STD-810.
  • SolidWorks, Mentor DxDataBook, CES, IPC CID or CID+ certification, and cable design experience.
  • Experience with electronics fabrication and assembly facilities from quoting through final inspection.
  • Experience with space-grade components and aircraft, missile, or satellite systems.

Culture & Benefits

  • Fast-paced, customer-focused, and technically innovative work environment.
  • 15 PTO days, 10 paid holidays, floating holidays, and paid volunteer time.
  • Paid maternity/paternity leave after one year of full-time employment.
  • Up to $5,000 per year in tuition reimbursement for eligible full-time employees.
  • 401(k) with company matching and immediate vesting.
