TL;DR
Staff DevOps Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes): Leading internal developer platform development, cloud FinOps, Kubernetes operations, and resilient infrastructure for a multi-country fintech platform with an accent on AWS, EKS, Kafka/MSK, security, and compliance. Focus on standardizing CI/CD, automating incident analysis with applied AI, strengthening SSDLC controls, and designing multi-region recovery systems.
Location: Hybrid in Bogota D.C., Colombia; Mexico City, Mexico; or Sao Paulo, Brazil. Office, customer, and home work are combined, with additional office presence expected during ramp-up or when requested by the leader.

What you will do
- Lead the design, adoption, and continuous improvement of the Internal Developer Platform and CI/CD standards.
- Design FinOps strategies across AWS and related tooling while improving deployment frequency and reducing cycle time.
- Operate and evolve Kubernetes on Amazon EKS for multi-country production workloads across Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil.
- Support Kafka/MSK event-driven architecture, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and consumer group management.
- Build applied-AI and MCP-based automation for log analysis and incident root-cause analysis.
- Advise development teams on secure infrastructure, technical debt, IAM, SSDLC, compliance, resilience, and infrastructure as code.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles, preferably in fintech or regulated environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with multi-account, multi-region AWS and production Kubernetes on Amazon EKS.
- Production experience with Apache Kafka or Amazon MSK, Internal Developer Platforms, CI/CD standardization, observability, incident management, and DORA metrics.
- Practical knowledge of cloud security, least-privilege access, SSDLC, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, or regional fintech regulations, plus Infrastructure as Code experience.
- Native Spanish and intermediate-to-advanced English are required.
Nice to have
- Experience applying AI, LLMs, MCPs, or agents to operational tasks.
- Experience with Ruby, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and Java/Spring Boot microservices.
- Strong analytical, documentation, stakeholder communication, and mentoring skills.
