Employee Relations Partner (Human Resources)

Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States; additional role locations: Buffalo, New York and Wilmington, Delaware. Travel, including overnight travel, may be required.

Salary: $109,300–$182,100 annual USD

What you will do

• Act as a subject matter expert on complex employee relations matters for assigned business lines or geographic territories.
• Investigate employee and regulatory complaints, resolve workplace issues, and facilitate dispute resolution.
• Advise managers and employees on performance management, corrective action, terminations, conduct issues, and company policies.
• Participate in regulatory complaints, unemployment hearings, investigative conferences, and other external proceedings.
• Develop and deliver training on employee relations, harassment, legal issues, performance management, and bank policies.
• Collaborate with HR centers of excellence, prepare reporting and presentations, support exit interviews, and mentor junior employee relations professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field plus 5 or more years of relevant experience; alternatively, 9 years of combined higher education and work experience.
• Experience consulting on employee relations issues and conducting or leading investigations.
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, analytical, influencing, writing, and mediation skills.
• Ability to think critically, work with agility in changing and ambiguous environments, and manage multiple priorities.
• Understanding of employment law, including its interpretation and application, is preferred.
• Ability to travel, including overnight travel, as needed.

Nice to have

• HR generalist, employee relations, or internal business line management experience with significant people-management responsibilities.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
• Experience mentoring or leading others.
