Credit Risk Summer Intern (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; full-time, 10-week paid summer internship.

Salary: $30 per hour anticipated base compensation; actual pay may vary based on location and experience.

What you will do

• Analyze borrower and tenant income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct initial credit reviews and prepare concise written credit summaries.
• Calculate and monitor financial metrics, credit indicators, and covenant compliance.
• Review public filings, industry data, and other sources to support credit assessments.
• Maintain accurate customer financial records and assist with portfolio monitoring.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Foundational knowledge of financial statement analysis and corporate finance.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to collaborate and manage multiple priorities in a professional environment.
• Demonstrated interest in credit underwriting, risk management, or commercial real estate.

Nice to have

• Prior internship, research, coursework, or project experience in finance, banking, commercial real estate, or accounting.
