Summer 2027 Loan Closing Intern (Remote)

Location: Remote 5 days a week, associated with Winter Haven and Tampa, Florida, and Charleston, South Carolina, United States. A secure, distraction-free workspace and reliable internet connection are required; minimal travel may be required.

Salary: $20 per hour.

What you will do

• Support loan request intake, document organization, workflow tracking, and operational reporting.
• Review commercial loan closing packages under supervision and identify missing or inconsistent information.
• Learn about borrower and guarantor structures, commitment letters, collateral, flood requirements, insurance, title work, and approval documentation.
• Observe and support the preparation and review of loan documents, closing instructions, settlement information, and funding materials.
• Assist with quality control, exception tracking, process improvement, reporting, automation, and technology initiatives.
• Complete and present a final project with key learnings and recommendations to department leadership.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, banking, business administration, accounting, economics, risk management, information systems, business analytics, or a related field.
• Rising senior graduating in 2028; a 3.4 GPA is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment, protect confidential information, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to complete mandatory compliance training, new employee orientation, and structured department training.

• Interest in commercial lending, loan operations, documentation, compliance, process improvement, automation, or artificial intelligence.
