Senior Software Engineer (C++)

Location: Novi, MI, USA; in-person onboarding and/or identity verification may be required.

Salary: $117,000–$209,330 annually base salary for U.S.-based roles; offers may exceed this range.

What you will do

• Design, build, ship, and iterate on production-quality software for Fusion Electronics.
• Solve complex engineering problems and contribute to system and software architecture.
• Own features from design through implementation and delivery.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to solve customer problems.
• Develop electronics design workflows that improve engineering and sustainability outcomes.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or Copilot and contribute to technical direction and engineering practices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong software design, architecture, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Strong programming skills, including C++ or a similar systems programming language.
• Experience building and delivering complex, production-quality software.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools combined with sound engineering judgment.
• Availability to work in Novi, Michigan, USA, with possible in-person onboarding or identity verification.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD, EDA/ECAD, or other complex engineering software.
• Knowledge of electronics and electronic product development.
• Experience developing large-scale desktop applications in C++.
• Interest or experience in sustainability, manufacturing efficiency, or sustainable product design.
