Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; in-person work is emphasized.

Salary: $117,000–$234,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Own delivery of scoped software features and components through collaborative engineering teams.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable payment solutions.
• Write maintainable code across multiple programming languages and support the full software development lifecycle.
• Integrate AI and machine learning components and use generative AI tools to improve development efficiency.
• Support CI/CD, automated testing, observability, debugging, code reviews, and application performance improvements.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements, mentor peers, and promote engineering best practices.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of software engineering experience with a relevant bachelor’s degree, or 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with software development using languages such as Java and Node.js.
• Strong object-oriented programming, documentation, code review, debugging, CI/CD, and automated testing skills.
• Experience integrating AI/ML components and applying generative AI tools in software development.
• Ability to design scalable and secure solutions, exercise technical judgment, and collaborate across functions.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
