TL;DR
Equity Analyst & Reporter (CNBC) (Financial Markets/Investment Research): Identifying investment ideas through financial statement analysis, market research, interviews, and on-air reporting with an accent on company fundamentals, valuation metrics, and Wall Street relationships. Focus on turning complex investment analysis into clear written and broadcast explanations while researching the effects of technology, regulation, and economic shifts.

Location: Hybrid role based at CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey; expected to work from the office at least three days per week. Unrestricted work authorization in the United States is required.

Salary: USD 100,000–125,000 per year

What you will do

  • Identify compelling investment opportunities through research, financial analysis, and evaluation of market trends.
  • Analyze balance sheets, income statements, valuation metrics, and company fundamentals to assess changes in business prospects.
  • Interview analysts, investors, industry leaders, and C-suite executives, including through on-the-ground reporting.
  • Develop written research and explain investment ideas on air with clarity and authority.
  • Collaborate with analysts to coordinate research and analysis.
  • Assess the impact of technological change, regulation, and economic conditions on companies and markets.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience writing similar content for a major publication or working as a sell-side or buy-side research analyst.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies.
  • Strong journalistic writing, research, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to produce differentiated written research under tight deadlines in a high-intensity environment.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with teams.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States and availability for a hybrid schedule with at least three office days per week.

  • Published investment ideas that achieved successful outcomes.
  • Established relationships with Wall Street investors and analysts.
  • Deep understanding of company fundamentals and prior experience analyzing companies.
  • MBA or CFA credential.
  • Experience in a fast-paced digital newsroom.
