Sr Phlebotomist (Genetic Diagnostics)

What you will do

• Verify test requisitions and patient identification before collection.
• Collect blood specimens through venipuncture and finger sticks.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic and isolation procedures.
• Track collections, record quality-control data, and follow testing schedules.
• Resolve unusual test orders with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, and reference laboratories.
• Manage patient reports, billing questions, courier pickups, and related follow-up.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate required where mandated by the state.
• Ability to follow hospital, legal, federal, state, local, and JCAHO requirements.
• Work onsite in Kansas City and wear scrubs in an office setting.
• Complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, policy compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of hire.
