Maintenance & Reliability Engineer (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Hybrid position in Longview, Texas, USA; approximately 25% travel, including mine sites and global workshops.

What you will do

• Develop technical object structures, functional locations, recommended parts lists, and maintenance plans for electric wheel loaders, electric rope shovels, and drills.
• Lead or facilitate Reliability Centered Maintenance, FMEA, and maintenance task analyses for new and existing products.
• Analyze failure modes and reliability risks to define preventive, predictive, inspection-based, and run-to-failure strategies.
• Perform Weibull, MTBF, MTTR, availability, and component life analyses, and validate maintenance intervals and overhaul strategies.
• Maintain asset histories, reliability records, LCM KPI dashboards, and datasets in approved APM platforms.
• Collaborate with distributors, product support, engineering, and analytics teams on lifecycle cost models, customer proposals, product development, training, and reliability standardization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mining, reliability engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least five years of experience in maintenance, reliability, product support, or heavy-equipment engineering.
• Working knowledge of RCM, FMEA, Weibull analysis, root cause analysis, risk assessment, and maintenance strategy development.
• Experience with SAP PM, APM/Meridium or similar systems, Salesforce, Excel, and Power BI.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interpret imperfect field data.
• Ability to travel approximately 25%, including occasional travel to mine sites and global workshops.

Nice to have

• Mining or large mobile-equipment experience with loaders, electric rope shovels, drills, or similar equipment.
• CMRP or equivalent reliability certification and formal RCM or FMEA facilitation training.
• Experience with Palantir, Python, SQL, Snowflake, or similar analytics and automation tools.
• Experience developing maintenance plans, spare-parts strategies, and customer-facing technical deliverables in a global distributor environment.
