Internal AI Operator (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid with onsite attendance 3+ days per week. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $235,000–$260,000 USD/year. Competitive equity is also offered.

What you will do

• Own the internal AI stack, including agent harnesses, configurations, shared skills, and model routing.
• Roll out coding agents and AI workflows across teams, starting with the revenue organization.
• Pair with employees to build practical agent workflows and drive sustained adoption.
• Analyze token-spend data, improve cost per useful token, and optimize model selection, routing, caching, and workflows.
• Build missing infrastructure in code, including MCP servers, hooks, evaluations, and internal tooling.
• Track changes in Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and emerging AI development tools.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience as an engineer or highly technical operator.
• Experience rolling out coding agents or AI tooling across a team and demonstrating adoption beyond a pilot.
• Strong hands-on experience with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or comparable AI development tools.
• Ability to write code and build missing harness functionality, MCP servers, hooks, evaluations, and internal tools.
• Experience using spend or usage data to improve inference efficiency and output.
• Strong communication and emotional intelligence, with the ability to teach and drive behavioral change through hands-on pairing.

Nice to have

• Background as a founder, early startup engineer, or leader of a difficult tooling change.
• Experience making AI adoption stick across teams with different workflows and levels of technical familiarity.
