Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; on-site

Salary: $150,000–$165,000 base plus a portion of variable compensation tied to company and individual performance.

What you will do

• Design, build, and improve AI agents and automations for SDR outbound, AE opportunity management, and CSM account and renewal workflows.
• Convert procurement, contract, account, contact, call, and email signals into qualified sequences, next-best actions, deal-risk alerts, account-health insights, and renewal signals.
• Own the roadmap and quality bar for internally built revenue systems as product owner.
• Define human approval gates, escalation paths, evaluation frameworks, regression checks, and production monitoring for agent behavior.
• Connect Salesforce, Outreach, Gong, and third-party signal sources while partnering with AI, data, systems, and platform engineers.
• Drive adoption, change management, prioritization, and executive reporting on conversion, pipeline, deal-cycle, and renewal outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in technical product management, sales or revenue operations, data science, GTM strategy or operations, solutions architecture, or a related function.
• Professional experience using AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, n8n, Make, or Airia to build practical improvements.
• Production experience building and operating AI agents, including tool use, context engineering, and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with SaaS sales or GTM operations and enterprise revenue systems such as Salesforce, Outreach, or Gong.
• Strong user research, analytical, communication, first-principles problem-solving, and SQL skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Claude Code, the Claude Agent SDK, or MCP servers.
• Knowledge of AI governance, data access controls, audit trails, and responsible AI practices.
• Experience with workflow automation, internal tools, Snowflake, Looker, applied ML, experimentation, scoring, or recommendations.
• Experience in high-growth SaaS, public-sector or B2G sales, or environments with elevated data-handling standards.
