Senior Staff Thermal Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Salary: $184,000–$225,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, analyze, and validate thermal control systems for next-generation aerospace products.
• Own thermal designs from concept development and requirements definition through detailed design, simulation, manufacturing, testing, and qualification.
• Perform electronics, PCBA, box-level, and system-level thermal design and analysis.
• Develop thermal resistance networks, reduced-order thermal models, and analysis automation tools.
• Correlate thermal models with thermal chamber and TVAC test results.
• Present engineering design reviews to customers and upper management and contribute to proposal writing.

Requirements

• BS or higher in Mechanical, Thermal, or Aerospace Engineering.
• At least 12 years of industry experience in thermal/mechanical design and analysis; an MS may count as two years of experience.
• Strong foundation in mechanical engineering and heat transfer, including radiative, conductive, and convective analysis.
• Proficiency with ANSYS or Thermal Desktop and MCAD tools such as SolidWorks.
• Experience with spacecraft thermal environments, manufacturing processes, thermal fixtures, and laboratory thermal control systems.
• Must satisfy U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Thermal management experience with phased-array or high-power RF electronics.
• Thermal analysis experience at the die, lead-frame, and package levels.
• Experience with Matlab, Python, Mathematica, or other computational scripting languages.
