Field Mechanic

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, with the main shop in Glen Allen, Virginia; frequent travel to customer project sites and company-designated field locations. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Perform servicing, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Travel to customer job sites to diagnose and repair malfunctioning parts and systems.
• Use visual inspection and computer diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical problems.
• Maintain service vehicles, repair orders, weekly timesheets, and equipment records.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare required safety documentation.
• Follow DOT, EPA, OSHA, interstate authority, hazardous-material, and other applicable regulations.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair, or qualifying vocational training and experience.
• Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment daily with a clean motor vehicle record and good DAC report.
• Ability to obtain a valid Class B Commercial Driver License.
• Mechanical tools, materials, testing equipment, vehicle maintenance, and repair knowledge.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, maintain accurate records, and follow safety procedures.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience providing oversight for less experienced mechanics.
