Senior Director, Identity and Access Management

Location: Richmond, Virginia hybrid for Virginia residents, or remote for applicants residing in North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, or DC Metro. Hybrid in-office work is required within 50 miles of a hirify.global or CareScout office; applicants outside that radius should expect approximately 25% travel. Core working hours target 9am–5pm EST.

Salary: $250,000–$300,000 national range, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Define and execute the enterprise Identity and Access Management strategy, roadmap, and target-state architecture.
• Develop agentic identity strategy and integrate IAM standards into the broader technology and AI strategy.
• Lead identity modernization across cloud transformation, automation, user experience, resilience, and legacy technology reduction.
• Govern identity lifecycle management, access certifications, least-privilege enforcement, audit readiness, PAM, PIM, and JIT access.
• Drive platform consolidation, technology rationalization, control effectiveness, risk reduction, executive reporting, and regulatory alignment.
• Build and lead the IAM organization while managing investment strategy, budgets, vendors, and partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, identity and access management, security engineering, infrastructure, directory services, or related disciplines.
• Experience leading managers, senior technical professionals, and multidisciplinary teams responsible for complex enterprise-scale services.
• Deep expertise in IAM, identity governance, PAM, identity lifecycle management, access certifications, role and entitlement governance, least privilege, authentication, and hybrid identity environments.
• Experience in complex regulated environments, preferably financial services or insurance, including cybersecurity frameworks, audits, SOX controls, and regulatory examinations.
• Executive-level communication and influencing skills, ownership of service performance and resilience, and willingness to travel approximately 25%.
