Senior Google Cloud Platform Looker Developer (GCP/Looker)

Location: Tysons, Virginia, United States; hybrid work with onsite or hybrid program requirements

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, build, integrate, test, deploy, troubleshoot, and sustain enterprise analytics applications.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into production-ready Looker applications, semantic models, Explores, dashboards, and reusable components.
• Develop LookML and SQL solutions using Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Looker Enterprise, Looker Studio, and Looker Studio Pro.
• Integrate reporting applications with data sources, APIs, identity services, and cloud components.
• Conduct technical and code reviews, establish reusable development standards, and mentor developers.
• Resolve application, data, security, deployment, and performance issues in a controlled federal environment.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance required at the time of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least seven years of relevant business intelligence, cloud application, data engineering, or enterprise reporting experience, including five years with modern BI platforms.
• At least three years of hands-on Google Looker Enterprise and LookML development experience, including semantic models, dashboards, access controls, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
• Advanced SQL and performance-tuning experience with BigQuery and another enterprise platform such as Amazon Redshift or Oracle.
• Experience with Google Cloud security and integration services, Git-based development, CI/CD, testing, secure coding, accessibility, Agile delivery, and technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Google Cloud certification such as Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Developer, or Associate Cloud Engineer.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL or ELT pipelines, data governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality controls.
• Experience modernizing legacy reporting platforms and validating data, security, calculations, and performance during migrations.
• Federal, DLA, or DoD delivery experience and a current Common Access Card.
• Experience with Looker APIs, embedded analytics, extensions, JavaScript, or Python.
