Material Requirements Planning Specialist (Manufacturing): Developing executable manufacturing documentation and digital work instructions for prototype electronics, mechanical, cable, chassis, and electro-mechanical assemblies with an accent on engineering data translation, production planning, and configuration control. Focus on converting drawings, bills of material, specifications, and inspection criteria into MES routings and build sequences while supporting rapid-turn prototype manufacturing.

Location: Must be within 100 miles of Lexington, Massachusetts, United States; onsite 5 days per week

What you will do

  • Develop manufacturing documentation for prototype PCBA, cable and harness, machined, chassis, enclosure, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Translate engineering drawings, bills of material, specifications, assembly requirements, and inspection criteria into MES work instructions, routings, build sequences, and manufacturing records.
  • Partner with manufacturing personnel and engineering teams during design-for-manufacturing reviews, hardware kickoffs, and readiness reviews.
  • Support rapid-turn prototype builds while maintaining configuration and revision control.
  • Update instructions based on engineering changes, build feedback, lessons learned, non-conformances, and process improvements.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency, standardization, scalability, and digital manufacturing tools.

Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen and able to obtain an active Secret Clearance; interim clearance is sufficient to start.
  • Must be within 100 miles of Lexington, Massachusetts, and available to work onsite five days per week.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a STEM discipline.
  • At least two years of program or project management, analysis, project planning, or execution experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations, production engineering, technical documentation, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, specifications, and technical documentation, and to develop manufacturing work instructions or routings using MES, ERP, PLM, or similar systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience with prototype or high-mix, low-volume hardware manufacturing.
  • Experience with PCBA, cable and harness, machining, or electro-mechanical assembly processes.
  • Experience with MES implementation, PLM-to-MES data flows, configuration management, ERP/MRP systems, and manufacturing bills of material.
