Staff Software Engineer – Frontend (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Base salary: $190,000–$250,000 per year, plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of customer-facing interactive web applications.
• Drive frontend technical vision, architecture, scalability, observability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with API, Platform, Product, QA, and UI/UX teams to deliver integrated web solutions.
• Mentor engineers and promote frontend engineering best practices and continuous learning.
• Oversee the application lifecycle, including production monitoring and ongoing improvement.
• Support FDA compliance through documentation, quality processes, and regulatory adherence for medical software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience building and deploying large-scale customer-facing web applications.
• Strong proficiency in modern frontend technologies such as Vue.js, JavaScript, React, or Angular.
• Experience driving technical vision, making architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers.
• Strong understanding of web security, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Agile development, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with or willingness to learn FDA regulations and compliance requirements for medical software.

Nice to have

• Hands-on expertise with Vue.js and its ecosystem.
• Proficiency with AWS services.
• Experience with FDA-regulated products or another highly regulated industry.
• Knowledge of medical imaging products or healthcare technologies.
