Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. and qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR requirements.
Salary: $169,067–$216,031 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

What you will do
- Develop reliable firmware controlling spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules across complete missions.
- Own software development from design and requirements capture through testing, integration, and flight operational support.
- Scope projects and perform initial design trades for open-ended spacecraft software problems.
- Write structured bare-metal, RTOS-based, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
- Build highly reliable and highly available software systems.
- Apply software testing, verification, and validation techniques to ensure system quality and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
- 5+ years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
- Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware and software systems.
- Strong C++ development experience and understanding of C++ language concepts.
- U.S. work authorization and U.S. person status are required for access to export-controlled technology.
Nice to have
- Safety-critical software experience, particularly in aerospace applications.
- Experience with Python or Rust.
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, data structures, and computer networking.
