Cybersecurity System Engineer (Space)

Location: Tres Cantos, Madrid, Spain; hybrid working model with up to 8 weeks per year of teleworking outside the usual geographical area

What you will do

• Define security architectures for ground segments, control centres, station interfaces, and external entities.
• Generate and review security design documents, plans, and technical notes.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, network, hardware, software, key management, and operations teams to define security models and hardening activities.
• Establish security-by-design processes and identify system risks and threats.
• Provide technical support to segment teams and customers.
• Coordinate with ESA and European subcontractors during reviews and formal testing milestones, and evolve the security strategy.

Requirements

• Strong technical education or equivalent technical background.
• Experience designing security architectures for complex IT systems.
• Experience with secure network design, cybersecurity, risk management, and virtualization architectures.
• Background in or strong interest in the space sector.
• Good English level required.
