Junior Cybersecurity Engineer (Cryptography and Hardware Security Testing)

What you will do

• Analyze cryptographic algorithm and protocol implementations from a security perspective.
• Review technical documentation, product architectures, and source code for cryptographic modules.
• Translate security requirements into test activities, set up environments, execute tests, and investigate unexpected results.
• Support algorithm testing, develop or adapt scripts, and analyze test results.
• Evaluate random number generators, entropy sources, side-channel behavior, and fault-injection results as appropriate.
• Prepare traceable test records, technical reports, validation submissions, and responses to review comments.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing, and digital signatures.
• Practical programming or scripting experience; Python and/or C/C++ are particularly relevant.
• Systematic problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain technical reasoning.
• English sufficient for reading technical standards, writing reports, and participating in technical discussions.
• Collaborative attitude and willingness to learn from feedback.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Linux, command-line tools, debugging, or software testing.
• Experience with cryptographic libraries, embedded systems, PKI, TLS, SSH, or IPsec.
• Exposure to FIPS 140-3, ISO/IEC 19790, algorithm testing, random number generation, or entropy assessment.
• Knowledge of statistics, electronics, signal processing, side-channel analysis, or fault injection.
• Projects involving applied cryptography, embedded security, or security evaluation.
