What you will do
- Own the monthly close for assigned accounts, including journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage prepaid expense reconciliations, amortization schedules, and expense recognition across software, insurance, utilities, rent, and general operating expenses.
- Maintain lease accounting under ASC 842, including lease schedules, monthly entries, and reconciliations of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities.
- Review agreements, invoices, contracts, and account activity to identify accounting implications, missing accruals, coding errors, and timing differences.
- Perform variance analysis, investigate business drivers, and provide clear supporting explanations.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, FP&A, Legal, Operations, and other stakeholders while supporting audits, internal controls, documentation, and process improvements.
Requirements
- 3–4 years of relevant accounting or audit experience.
- Advanced English skills for clear written and verbal communication about accounting matters.
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, prepaid expenses, and amortization schedules.
- Degree in Accounting or a related field, with strong knowledge of expense recognition and occupancy-related expenses.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and sound accounting judgment.
- Ability to manage responsibilities independently, meet deadlines, and communicate issues proactively.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with LeaseQuery.
- US GAAP knowledge, including ASC 842 lease accounting.
- Experience with NetSuite, multi-currency entities, and accounting process automation or AI tools.
