Software Engineer (Embedded Controls)

Location: Milford, Michigan, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote; must be able to report to the local office

What you will do

• Produce and deliver embedded controls software for electrification, autonomous, engine, transmission, or chassis systems.
• Design, develop, and implement physics and controls requirements for mechatronic controls, diagnostics strategies, and controller communication.
• Test and demonstrate software functionality and readiness at the controller, system, and vehicle levels.
• Document design requirements and link them to test cases that demonstrate software functionality.
• Use automated test tools in build environments, benches, and vehicles, and provide common software solutions across GM.
• Collaborate as an Agile Scrum team member, participate in planning, and share knowledge across VMEC departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related role.
• At least two years of experience with embedded controls software and C/C++ programming.
• At least two years of experience with auto code generation, Java, MATLAB, Simulink, Python scripting, and INCA.
• Must be able to work from and report to the Milford, Michigan office under the hybrid work policy.
