TL;DR
DevSecOps Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure/Security): Designing and operating secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure and CI/CD platforms for Missile Defense Agency mission-critical services with an accent on infrastructure as code, automated security controls, and platform resiliency. Focus on building containerized platforms, improving observability, implementing least-privilege controls, and automating incident recovery and deployment operations.

Location: On-site at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, or Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Remote and telework are not available. Day shift; travel required up to 10% of the time. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.

What you will do

  • Design, deploy, secure, and operate scalable cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure for reliable software delivery and mission-critical services.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code and configuration-management practices using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or equivalent tools.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with automated security controls, testing, artifact management, and deployment approvals.
  • Operate containerized platforms and establish observability through logging, metrics, alerting, tracing, dashboards, and service-level objectives.
  • Implement identity, access, secrets management, encryption, network segmentation, and least-privilege controls with cybersecurity stakeholders.
  • Support availability, incident response, root-cause analysis, disaster recovery, backup, continuity of operations, technical standards, and operational documentation.

Requirements

  • Must work on-site at one of the two listed U.S. defense locations; remote work is unavailable.
  • DoW Secret clearance is required.
  • At least 6 years of general full-time work experience and at least 4 years in systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, site reliability engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, or a related discipline.
  • At least 6 months of management or technical leadership experience.
  • Experience designing and operating production infrastructure in AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, private cloud, or hybrid environments.
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
