TL;DR
Enlistment Waiver Specialist (Ohio Army National Guard) (Military Personnel and Regulatory Compliance): Reviewing, preparing, tracking, and quality-checking medical, moral, administrative, tattoo, and prior-service enlistment waivers for the Ohio Army National Guard with an accent on regulatory interpretation, documentation accuracy, and sensitive records management. Focus on validating applicant packets, researching personnel records, maintaining workflow systems, and resolving time-sensitive compliance issues under Army and National Guard accession regulations.

Location: On-site at Beightler Armory, Columbus, Ohio, 5 days per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm ET. Occasional remote coordination and travel for training or coordination meetings may be required.

What you will do

  • Review, prepare, submit, and track medical, moral, administrative, tattoo, and prior-service waiver requests.
  • Process MEPS physical requests and USMEPCOM Form 727-E Processing Lists using applicable systems and standards.
  • Validate applicant qualifications, test scores, supporting documentation, and enlistment program elighirify.global.
  • Research and update current and former military personnel records using REDD, RDMS, iPERMS, and related systems.
  • Maintain case files, waiver databases, status logs, correspondence, and electronic filing workflows.
  • Explain regulatory determinations to recruiters and operations staff, return non-compliant packets for correction, and escalate issues when appropriate.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to handle sensitive personal, medical, and background information.
  • At least 2 years of experience in military personnel, recruiting, accessions, records processing, or a similar regulatory case-file role.
  • Ability to interpret detailed regulations, verify documentation, apply accession criteria, and explain determinations clearly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail, data privacy awareness, communication skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work on-site at Beightler Armory in Columbus, Ohio, during standard business hours.

Nice to have

  • Prior military service, especially in personnel, recruiting and retention, or MEPS.
  • Familiarity with Army enlistment and waiver regulations, AR 601-210, Accession Options Criteria, and SF-86.
  • Experience with MATS, NGCRC, REDD, RDMS, or iPERMS.
  • Medical administration or healthcare experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military or professional experience.
