Senior Counsel (Insurance Defense)

Location: Seattle, Washington; remote, hybrid, or onsite work options are available. An active Washington State bar license is required.

Salary: $145,000–$180,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. An annual billable-hours bonus is also available.

What you will do

• Develop compelling case themes and defense strategies for high-exposure litigation.
• Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, trials, discovery, and full case management.
• Prepare litigation matters for deposition and trial.
• Communicate routinely with clients and cultivate client relationships.
• Collaborate with attorneys at all experience levels.
• Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to less experienced attorneys.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved school.
• Active license in the State of Washington is required for this position.
• At least 8 years of litigation experience, including litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Ability to manage all aspects of discovery, trial preparation, and full case handling.
• Strong independent judgment, communication, listening, writing, and verbal advocacy skills.
• Experience with time-management systems and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
