Senior Counsel (Civil Litigation)

Location: Inland Empire, California, with a future office in the Redlands area. Remote, hybrid, and onsite work options are available, while cases are primarily located throughout the Inland Empire and may extend beyond the region.

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys may also receive annual billable-hours bonuses.

What you will do

• Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, discovery, motion practice, and trials.
• Develop compelling case themes and litigation strategies.
• Manage full case handling responsibilities from initial strategy through trial.
• Communicate routinely with clients and cultivate relationships with existing and future clients.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff at all experience levels.
• Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys while helping build the Inland Empire office.

Requirements

• Active California Bar license required.
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• At least 8 years of solid litigation experience, including litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Experience managing all facets of discovery and trial; insurance defense experience is preferred.
• Experience with time-management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Independent judgment, minimal-supervision work style, and strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• First- or second-chair trial experience.
• Experience in medical malpractice, professional liability, construction defect, or related civil defense practices.
