2027 Spring Co-op Biologics Drug Product Development (Gene Therapy)

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States; onsite. Must be able to relocate to the office and work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, for the full six-month co-op.

Salary: $35.00–$58.00 per hour

What you will do

• Execute formulation, process development, and stability studies for gene therapy programs.
• Work on drug delivery and product development for lipid nanoparticles and adeno-associated virus modalities.
• Assess formulation, stability, and compatibility using established assays across different technology platforms.
• Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks and prepare technical reports and standard operating procedures.
• Analyze, compile, and present results to cross-functional internal teams and external partners.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a PhD or MS program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• At least one year of relevant laboratory experience.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
• Must remain enrolled at an accredited college or university throughout the co-op.
• Must relocate to the Waltham office and work onsite 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for six months.
• Strong collaboration, communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in gene therapy, particularly formulation and manufacturing of lipid nanoparticles or viral capsid-based drug products.
• Ability to multitask and learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.
