Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Remote within the United States or Canada only

Salary: $46.15 USD per hour for individuals based in the US; $54.51 CAD per hour for individuals based in Canada

Nonprofit education organization building a free, world-class learning platform for Pre-K–12 and early college learners, with a focus on math and science.

What you will do

• Build software products and educational tools used by millions of learners, teachers, and parents.
• Develop features such as speech-to-text, calculator interfaces, classroom tools, and interactive learning content.
• Write, debug, test, review, and validate code with support from an engineering mentor.
• Work with technologies including Go, JavaScript, React, React Native, Redux, Flow, Google Cloud Run, and GraphQL.
• Collaborate across diverse perspectives and give and receive regular feedback.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in computer science or a related field.
• Expected graduation in 2028 or 2029.
• At least one previous software internship experience.
• Availability to start in May or June 2027 and complete 10–12 weeks of the internship.
• Must be able to work and live in the United States or Canada for the full internship.
• Ability to learn and use AI-assisted development tools while understanding, reviewing, and validating generated code.

Nice to have

• Experience with any programming language or development tool.
