Quality Operations Manager (Aerospace): Leading quality assurance and compliance for composite aerostructure manufacturing with an accent on AS9100, FAA and EASA requirements, audits, CAPA, and operational excellence. Location: Kinston, NC, United States; 90% on-site and 10% remote. US employment eligibility is required.

Aerosystems Kinston manufactures advanced composite aerostructures and critical aircraft components for the A350 XWB.
What you will do
- Lead quality assurance and compliance across manufacturing and operational processes.
- Ensure adherence to AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, EASA, and customer requirements.
- Conduct internal and external audits, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective-action reviews.
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
- Lead root-cause investigations using 5 Whys, FMEA, 9S, and CAPA methodologies.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and senior leadership while managing and mentoring a quality team of 20–25 exempt employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Quality Management, or equivalent technical experience; an associate degree with additional experience may also qualify.
- At least 10 years of experience leading multi-site quality operations or working with international aerospace regulatory bodies is preferred.
- Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, or equivalent ASQ certification required.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace regulations, AS9100, ISO 9001, audit practices, QMS, and CAPA processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvements, analyze quality metrics, and sustain compliance in high-reliability manufacturing.
- Must be eligible for employment in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this US position.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, ETQ, MasterControl, SAP, MES, Minitab, or JMP.
- Experience presenting quality metrics and audit findings to senior leadership or external regulators.
