Program Manager (Aerospace/Defense)

Location: Onsite in Santa Barbara, CA, with the role also based in Goleta, CA. Travel up to 10%.

Salary: $140,000–$165,000 annually

What you will do

• Oversee multiple production or development programs valued at approximately $1–$12 million.
• Develop program plans and schedules, monitoring cost, schedule, task completion, risks, and contractual compliance.
• Coordinate resources and execution across functional departments.
• Serve as the primary customer contact, resolving issues and managing program communications.
• Lead internal and customer meetings, prepare presentations, and deliver regular status reports.
• Support proposals, change orders, fact-finding, and negotiations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field; engineering preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in engineering, supply chain, operations, or a similar area within aerospace, defense, or highly engineered manufacturing.
• Strong communication, facilitation, organizational, and influencing skills, including emotional intelligence.
• Ability to present program information to customers and internal management and operate effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency with MS Project.
• Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required for this position.

Nice to have

• Experience managing multiple programs or development programs.
• Knowledge of project management tools, including Earned Value Management.
• Experience working with DoD customers and knowledge of DoD contractual requirements.
• PMI PMP certification.
