Director, Finance of Product & Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Serve as the primary finance partner to senior Product and Engineering leaders across budgets, forecasts, roadmaps, and investment decisions.
• Own financial plans, forecasts, and long-range views, translating roadmap changes into headcount, cost, and resource-allocation expectations.
• Build product-development economics and connect roadmap execution, hiring plans, productivity, and spending to KPI and assumption frameworks.
• Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with driver-based narratives covering performance, risks, opportunities, and actions.
• Model and stress-test forecast inputs, explain variances at the driver level, and surface emerging risks with mitigation plans.
• Represent Product and Engineering in FP&A, annual operating planning, long-range planning, and consolidated headcount and cost processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or business-unit finance, ideally supporting Product, Engineering, R&D, SaaS, or enterprise technology organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred.
• Experience partnering directly with senior or SVP-level business leaders and leading planning, forecasting, and business-review processes.
• Experience building driver-based financial models, including headcount-to-cost, roadmap-to-cost, or resource-planning models.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, systems, and data skills, with experience using shared data models and planning tools.
• Experience with Anaplan, Adaptive, Pigment, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools; SQL is a plus. Experience using AI tools for modeling, reporting, analysis, and synthesis is expected.
